A Photography Walk will be held at the Refuge on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Gather at the Education Barn at 4PM. Try your hand at afternoon wildlife photography while getting tips from a professional photographer. We may visit Kootenai NWR’s photography blind, which is near refuge headquarters.

A Bird Walk will be held at the Refuge on Saturday, May 18, 2013. Gather at the Education Barn at 9AM. We will go out rain or shine, so dress for the weather. Bring binoculars, a birding scope and/or a field guide if you have access to them. Expect to be out for about 2 hours.

Reserve the date. Art in the Wild is planned for Saturday, September 21, 2013. Come and enjoy nature-themed fine art, food and wildlife presentations in KNWR’s wonderful surroundings. Artists get your application here: ArtInTheWild2013Application

Sandpoint Online is hosting the page. Meadow Creek Computer Works and Intermax Networks are providing the camera service and the internet connection. Mike Richardson of Skywalker Tree Care scaled the cottonwood to place the camera so everyone can see what is going on up there. The camera is solar powered with equipment purchased from Backwoods Solar. Come and visit Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge to see the eagle nest in the Refuge’s beautiful surroundings.
