These bird species have been observed at Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge (KNWR). The pictures are presented in the order that the species appear in KNWR’s Watchable Wildlife brochure. The brochure also provides information on each species’ seasonal abundance (from abundant to rare) and identifies which species are known to nest at the Refuge.
Each photo’s caption contains the species’ common name followed by the photographer’s name. The location where the photo was taken, if known, is in parentheses at the end of the caption.
All photos were taken by members of the Friends of KNWR. Visit the Links page to connect to more of their work, where available. Enjoy their photos!
Where you see only a species name, we are waiting for a photo. We’ll add new photos, taken by members of the Friends of KNWR, as they are available.
